Donate first, then book your inorganic collection
If you have items in good condition, please consider selling or donating them to your local charity or community recycling centre first. The inorganic service is designed for items that are not appropriate for your kerbside rubbish or recycling collection and a one cubic metre size limit applies.
It’s easy to book your inorganic collection via Auckland Council’s booking tool. Once you enter your address, the tool will let you know when your collection period is. Then you can fill in the necessary information to make your booking. Bookings close eight days before your collection period begins.
You can also make a booking in-person at your local service centre, or by calling 09 301 0101.
When you make a booking, you’ll be given a timeframe for when your collection will happen in your area. You will get an exact collection date by email, text or phone the week before your collection. If you no longer need the service, you can cancel by letting us know before your collection date.
What happens on collection day?
Before 7am on your collection day, place items (roughly a small trailer load of material) in a highly visible and easily accessible location within your property boundary. Collectors will then come and take them away for you. Please don’t place your items on the kerbside, berm, or footpath. This could be mistaken for illegal dumping.
Make sure it’s easy to identify which items are to be taken away and that they are easy for the collectors to remove. Go here to check which items you can put out for collection.
